Happenings Around the Farm

ree

Little squeals come from the boys as they excitedly beat on the diaper box. The living room is filled to the brim with tractors, mini farm equipment, & musical instruments. The cat is in the box peeking out and teasing the babies.

I have waited for this and it is finally here. The long nights of crying over a failed cycle, the stress of fertility treatments each month, the monthly hospital visits for blood draws, it's finally over. The content feeling of being perfectly happy where I am is overwhelming and I wouldn't want it any other way. Life has been a dream lately.

So, I'm sure you're curious about what has been going on around the farm lately and what's about to happen:

  • We had covid a few weeks ago, all of us! It wasn't nearly as bad as it had been the first time. We all had what the equivalent of a head cold was. Runny noses, congestion, and Coltie had a cough and low-grade fever. But we recovered quickly even though it put us out of work for almost two weeks. We enjoyed the family time in between wiping noses and watching cartoons.

  • We bought some ducklings! I can't remember if I told you that or not, so here it is again! We have six ducklings. The boys favorite pasttime has become searching for those ducklings then watching their every move.

  • I had my first trip to buccee's! Or as the young people call it, "Bussie's". I was on my anxiety meds thankfully so the crowd didn't bother me at all. And let me tell you, it was CROWDED. It was bumper to bumper inside and outside LOL! And the smells, whew! I did not enjoy all the smells mixing. Brisket, fudge, candied pecans, beef jerky, popcorn, it was just not for me lol. I may take the boys next time we are on the road just for the experience, but personally, I enjoyed it but it was a LOT to take in.

  • We are planning one more trip for the Summer, I probably won't post much that weekend because one.) I don't want anyone breaking into my house and two.) I need to enjoy living in the moment a little more. But I am so excited about this trip! We are going to my family's house in the mountains of Western North Carolina, the state has cleaned up the river and removed dams and rocks and I am so excited to buy a cheap tube and go tubing down my own private section of the French Broad River. Which reminds me, I need to find my bathing suit!

  • As far as the boys go, they're changing so much and so fast! Both are beginning to mimic words and it's the cutest thing! Kayven repeated the word "moo" last night and Colten calls the cat by saying "meow". Both are crawling champs and Kayven is beginning to stand and cruising down the sides of the couch.

  • My garden is also another place changing! We are preparing to chop down the corn and possibly the squash in order to begin the pumpkins and sunflowers. I keep saying "today is the day" but then a million things come up and it doesn't work out. I am simply EXHAUSTED.

  • I became a book consultant for Usbourne books also! So if you ever want to buy some educational books, hit me up! We can do a whole online book party or you can buy through our link! Every bit of commission I get from books sold goes to buying the boy's diapers and formula OR buying them their own books to go in their library!

Welp, I think that's all for now! See ya later alligator!

Hi! Don't be Shy!

I can feel my life pivoting. We moved to a new town, I chopped off all my hair, we redone our home. Life changed so fast and so suddenly that it was like something inside of me changed with it. My ide
