Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies 



I know you're here for the cookie recipe so let's get on with it!  * This cookie recipe is incredible! I had to prove to people that I actually made it! Soft, chewy, and melt in your mouth flavor, cook it for the exact amount of time listed and you will have the best cookies! This recipe is from a Betty Crocker "Everything you need to know to cook from Scratch" Cookbook.* 


Prep: 1 hour | Makes: 4 Dozen


3/4 cup granulated sugar 

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 cup butter, softened

1 teaspoon vanilla 

1 egg

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 

1 teaspoon baking soda 

1/2 teaspoon salt 

2 cups semisweet or dark chocolate chips 

1. Heat oven to 375 F. In a large bowl, beat granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter, vanilla and egg with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with a spoon, until well blended. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in chocolate chips & nuts. 


2. Onto ungreased cookie sheets covered in parchment paper, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart. For perfectly sized and shaped cookies, use a tablespoon to scoop them out. 

3. Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until light brown, the centers of the cookies will be soft. Cool for a few minutes and place on racks.
